Summary

We want to talk about overall "architecture" of the FreeBSD.org clusters at our various sites. This session is supposed to be less operation, and more of the broad lines of where we want to go, especially given our limited resources (both brain cycles, hands cycles, computer cycles, and general money). The goal is to try and get a better idea of where we want to be infrastructure wise in e.g. 1 and 3 years to support the project in the best possible way.

This will be few presentations, and a lot of chat about what we can do, and what we can do better.

NOTE: This is primarily for people who are currently involved in administration of the FreeBSD.org systems in one way or another.

Agenda (tentative)

• Introduction. presenter: SimonNielsen.

• Basic infrastructure (DNS, Kerb, LDAP etc) between sites: SimonNielsen.

• Cluster security (two factor etc)
• How to better "integrate" with ports machines (package builders etc)
  • How to minimize overlap in infrastructure between portmgr and clusteradm
• Handling of untrusted systems (redports, devel boxes etc)
• How to minimize time requires on site (gnn, linimon ?)
• Sean's Project Evil
• FreeBSD.org CA for automated systems (svn etc)
• NIS to LDAP migration
• CDN ? / mirrors of the future.
