EuroBSDCon FreeBSD Development Summit 2008

Date for the summit will be Oct., 16th and 17th 2008 (the two days before the conference / in parallel to the tutorials)

There will be an invitation-only FreeBSD Developer Summit before the EuroBSDCon conference in Strasbourg, France in October 16 - 17, 2008. It will be held at the hotel Sofitel Strasbourg Grande Ile Here

Logistics

FreeBSD developers are welcome to register themselves using this wiki, but non-developers must be sponsored by a developers to attend. We highly encourage attendees to also attend EuroBSDCon 2008.

Sponsors

EuroBSDCon provides logistical support, including organizing rooms for the event and for developers to stay in. EuroBSDCon also covers board and travel for all EuroBSDCon speakers. You can also help support EuroBSDCon and the developer summit by encouraging people to attend the conference, and especially to attend tutorials.

We are looking for additional sponsors to cover meals, especially catered lunches during the developer summit. Does your company use FreeBSD and want to help support the great development work? Buying lunch for 20-40 starving developers and getting a chance to talk to them about what you do with FreeBSD is a great way to get your name your name out, not to mention keep their attention :-).

Schedule

The FreeBSD developer summit takes place on the 16th and 17th of October, on the same days as the EuroBSDCon tutorials (sorry!). Many developers will arrive on the night of the 15th and meet for dinner and drinks before things kick off. Most developers will stay on through EuroBSDCon to give and attend talks. It should be a good conference--a strong FreeBSD developer showing has countless benefits, not least the opportunity to tell the world what we're doing.

In order to attend, you must register in advance; this allows us to size rooms, order food, provide beverages, and make dinner reservations. We appreciate your cooperation in letting us know your plans well in advance of the event. Non-committers must be sponsored by a committer in order to attend.
