Garrett Wollman
Long, long ago, in a university computer lab far away, I ported Steve Deering's IP multicast patches for SunOS to 386BSD. Somehow this led to me being invited to be a FreeBSD developer shortly after Rod Grimes and others bootstrapped FreeBSD from the old 386BSD "patchkit" -- and later, it led to me moving to Boston to take a job working on "Integrated Services Internet" stuff for John Wroclawski at the MIT Laboratory for Computer Science. I was a member of Core-1 for nearly all of its existence. I've moved on from all of these things, while keeping the same employer; I now spend far too much time working on sysadmin and storage stuff, but I still try to keep a hand in as time and circumstances allow.
